My artist of choice is Salvador Dali. Dali was born in 1904 and throughout the 1900's was and still is known for his surreal painting style. Many of his paintings are a strange dreamscape of weird deserts, terrifying monsters, and many other fantastically strange people or objects. He was greatly influenced by the Renaissance masters.
Dali was a major surrealist with a large breadth of media. He drew, painted, sculpted, and even did some film. He was interested in a very dreamy style of painting. His paintings have abstract meanings if any meanings at all. His most famous piece “The persistence of memory” was based off of Einsteins theory that all time relative. Other pieces based off of Johns strange accounts in the Bible. He does not seem to be a part of any movement.
